Evangelization of Culture – Timothy Schmalz’s Latest Sculpture, Love Resurrected, accompanies the USCCB at the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Love Resurrected by Timothy Paul Schmalz

At this historic moment, the internationally renowned sculptor Timothy Paul Schmalz, will unveil a fiberglass proof of his latest sculpture, Love Resurrected. More than a mere monument, the sculpture will serve as the visual centerpiece of this deeply meaningful service; a deliberate, active instrument for the “evangelization of culture.”

Comissioned by the Regina Apostolorum Foundation, and developed in dialogue with Schmalz and the Regina Apostolorum Foundation team, this bust, offering a novel rendition of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and facets of the Man of the Shroud of Turin, reveals Christ emerging from the Shroud at the resurrection. Love Resurrected embodies a shared conviction that beauty has a unique power to educate the heart and draw us into a living relationship with the living Christ, with his Risen Sacred Heart.

As a U.S.-based non-profit dedicated both to the evangelization of culture and the formation of servant leaders, the Regina Apostolorum Foundation reflects these values at every level of its partnership with Schmalz. Named after Mary under her title Queen of Apostles, the Foundation is deeply committed to nurturing intrepid apostles and supporting high impact initiatives that resonate with both Catholic principles and the Heart of Christ. By bringing this sculpture to life, the Foundation translates its broad, global mission of evangelizing culture also through a visible artistic form.

This unveiling of the fiberglass proof marks only the beginning of the sculpture’s journey. Following its debut in Orlando, the bust will embark on a nationwide tour, visiting major cultural and spiritual centers across the US. The original bronze bust is being donated to the Pontifical Institute Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center, where it will be a part of the Exhibit of the Shroud of Turin, “Who is the Man of the Shroud”, anchoring this historic token of devotion to the city where Christ rose from the dead and revealed his most Sacred Heart.

This work has come to life in a historic moment thanks to Timothy Schmalz’s artistic talent and love for Christ, the Regina Apostolorum Foundation’s mission to evangelize culture, and the generous support of those who believe in the foundation’s vision.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, Love resurrected, make our hearts more like yours.
